PSYNT psychologists Mariya and Marie-Diane gave a talk on their work as LGBTQ+ psychologists.
The talk, titled “A Day in a Queer Life: LGBTQ+ and Mental Health”, was hosted by Leiden University Pride, and touched on the topics of mental health issues in the LGBTQ+ community, minority stress, and representation.
Marie-Diane and Mariya talk about their experience working as LGBTQ+ therapists in a predominantly cis/straight-dominated field.
They also discussed the ways in which sexual and gender minorities can safeguard themselves against minority stress and ensure better mental health outcomes across the board.

Australian and New Zealand journal of public health. 2003), with even higher percentages reporting fantasies or an interest in these activities.
